Footstock 2026: Sunday, May 31st

Dear Participants, Parents and Volunteers,

After considerable discussion and reflection, we have decided to modify the Footstock Kids Triathlon bike course.

Given the current weather forecast, we do not feel that the originally planned bike course is consistent with the conditions we expect on Race Day. Participant safety has always been our top priority, and we believe this adjustment is the right decision.

The bike portion will be significantly shortened and will be optional for all participants. Children who choose not to complete the bike segment will still be able to participate in the event and cross the finish line with their peers.

If your triathlete chooses not to do the bike portion, they may exit the pool and go directly to the run.

Consider a base layer and rainwear for riding and running in the rain, maybe even gloves or mitts and a buff over your ears.

We know many young athletes have been looking forward to the full triathlon experience, and we appreciate everyone's understanding as we balance that excitement with our responsibility to provide a safe event environment.

We remain committed to delivering a fun, memorable, and positive experience for all participants. We encourage athletes to dress warmly, bring extra layers, and make use of the indoor facilities available before and after their race.

Lastly, the race results will be delayed until they can be sorted into two batches (triathlon or duathlon).

Race Package Pickup and the Footstock Festival Area is on the SLS Centre curling rink dry pad. Please come dressed for the weather, maybe even a change of clothes to enjoy the after party.
