FAQs

  1. Where should we park our vehicles for the Duathlon since the start and finish are in two different locations? Will transportation be provided?
Athletes may park in the Extra Foods parking lot on Saturday morning prior to the start of the Duathlon. Unfortunately we will not be providing transportation. Athletes will be responsible for finding a ride back to the pool. Or perhaps, use the 3km distance from Spray Lakes Family Sports Centre as a nice cool-down following the race.

  2. Are strollers allowed in the races?
Strollers are only allowed in the 5 Km race. The other races (10 Km, Half) do not allow strollers due to congestion on the race course.

  3. A group of us from out of town are registered for races in the Footstock Race Weekend. Can we have one person pick up multiple race packages?
As long as you are comfortable with someone being responsible for your timing chip, then by all means have them pick up your package.

  4. Will there be somewhere to leave my bag with a change of clothes?
Yes, we will have a bag drop off at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

  5. For race registration, what ages are considered "Youth"?
A Youth is anyone under the age of 18.

  6. I've already registered but am not able to run. Can I get a refund or give my race bib to someone else?
Unfortunately there are no refunds. All race bib exchanges must be done at Race Package Pickup on Friday (June 11, 2010).

  7. I'm currently registered for the half marathon, but due to a recent injury will not be able to run in this event. I should be ok to run the 5Km or 10Km instead. Is there any way to transfer into one of the other races?
Yes we can change you to another event, but this can only be done at Race Package Pickup on Friday (June 11, 2010). Please understand that we do not refund.

  8. Is food provided for the volunteers?
There is coffee and snacks  provided by Coffee Traders for before you go out on the course on Saturday as well as a great pancake breakfast put on by the Lions Club. Breakfast starts at 9 with Coffee Traders coffee available. It is recommended that you bring your own special needs however for out on the course. Sunday volunteers will have a lunch sandwich provided by Cochrane's own Tim Horton's. Tim's coffee and snacks are available as well.

  9. Is the pancake breakfast free?
Pancake breakfast is free for all registered runners.  Runners friends and family can buy the breakfast for $5/adult and $2.50/children under 10.  All other food is strictly for the runners.

  10. Will I be able to pick up my race package on Friday afternoon?
Race Package pickup is set for 6 - 9 pm on Friday night. You won't be able to pick up any earlier than that. However, you can pick up your package on Saturday morning - we will be there for 6:30am.

  11. Are we allowed to run with MP3 players?
    Yes!

  12. How many waterstations are there?
There are waterstations every 3 to 4 Kilometers along the race route.

  13. Is the t-shirt sizing for the Sunday events adult sizes?
T-shirt sizing is always adult except in kids only events.  The sizing will be available on a first come, first served basis at race package pickup.  We do intend to have some XS sizes.
